The summit will continue to build on previous collaborations among academic institutions, Assyrian diaspora communities, minorities and human rights organisations, under the leadership of academics, governments and the public.
The Founding Conference of the Ashur Alliance – Ancient Semitic Peoples and Minorities in the Middle East represents a strategic and cultural initiative to foster cooperation, protect indigenous heritage, and strengthen Israel’s role as a partner in regional stability and minority rights.
The Ashur Alliance also emphasises the preservation of the shared linguistic and cultural heritage, a unique treasure in the world that is currently at risk of extinction
It follows the success of the first Middle Eastern Minorities Conference, held at the Museum of the Jewish People in Tel Aviv on October 27, 2025, with the participation of professionals, scholars, journalists, and political representatives, such as Edy Cohen, and in the presence of Mr Ayman Abu Aadir from the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Alliance supports the fight against antisemitism and prosecution, as we see again at the moment. It seeks to create a network of Assyrian, Druze, Aleweit and indigenous minority ambassadors worldwide and reinforces Israel’s position as a state that champions the rights of minority peoples facing existential threats.
